· Application fee of $100 + $15 ($15 goes towards Pageant T-Shirt) Please make all
checks payable to the Mercer County Fair and Horse Show (Memo line: Pre-Teen
Pageant).

The deadline to enter this pageant is JUNE 24th. There are a limited number of spots in
this pageant due to stage space, so the sooner you get your application in, the better.
Before June 1st is recommended to secure your spot!
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Photo Dates:
Dress is casual, but stylish; Photos will be taken on a solid white backdrop. Contact
directors if you have questions about clothing. Inspirational options will also be posted
on the Pre-Teen Facebook page.
To be eligible for Photogenic and for your photo to appear in the newspaper, you must
be present at one of the two scheduled picture dates.
Photo Session 1: June 17th 6-8pm
Photo Session 2: June 24th 6-8pm
Location: The Stable building at the fairgrounds
*******The professional photos taken these nights are the ONLY ONES eligible for the
photogenic award and guaranteed printing in the newspaper and program. DO NOT
call The Herald to ask for an extension!
Pageant Date: Tuesday, July 22nd, 2025
Interviews will be held at Diamond Point - Time TBA.
Pageant begins at approximately 8pm in center ring following the Little Miss and Mister.
*In case of rain, the pageant will be moved to Mercer County High School. That
decision will be made early in the afternoon and you will be contacted via directors.
Pageant Outfit Requirements:
· Interview: Contestants are asked to wear a Sunday style outfit that is age appropriate. Closed
toe shoes are also preferred.
· On-Stage Introduction: Opening number outfit will be the pageant t-shirt given to you at one of
our practices and bottoms (shorts or skirt-white or one of the colors that correlates with the t-shirt:
more information on that will come) that are without holes, rips or tears, non distressed. Shoes
and accessories are the girl’s choice. Have fun with it, make it so it shows your personality. Intro is
SHORT and catchy, but must include name, contestant number, parents name and sponsor.
· Evening Gown: FLOOR length evening gown that perfectly touches the floor and shoes are
NOT visible when walking. This dress is to be a ballgown style dress and should fit properly. No
strapless, form fitting or off the shoulder dresses. Dress MUST be age appropriate. There are many
Facebook pages available to purchase pre-owned dresses. See directors for more information
regarding any questions.
PLEASE NOTE: ONLY ONE PERSON IS ALLOWED PER CONTESTANT IN PAGEANT BUILDING!!
This will be strictly enforced!
ABSOLUTELY NO PHOTOGRAPHY OR VIDEOS IN PAGEANT BUILDING!
This is for the protection of your child! Again this is STRICTLY enforced!!
SCORING: Competent, out of town judges will score using the following percentages:
· 35% Interview: Appearance, Confidence, Speaking, Eye Contact, Overall Impression
· 25% Introduction: Public Speaking Ability, Appearance, Poise & Confidence
· 40% Evening Gown: Appearance, Poise & Dress Choice
Decision of the judges is FINAL. Scores will not be given to contestants, but judges'
comments/suggestions will be provided by the directors upon request. Please do not
message directors the same night of the pageant asking for these. Good sportsmanship
is required of ALL contestants and family members. No questions/comments should be
directed to the judges in any form including on Social Media.

Miss Congeniality (voted upon by contestants)

Amanda Bailey Rising Star Award (Directors Choice)
People’s Choice Award (awarded to the top voted girl by her community and has no
effect on judges’ final decision)
Responsibilities of the Winner:
· Be available in crown, sash and nice dress the remaining week of the fair.
· Present ribbons to horse show winners. (Directors will let you know dates and times.)
· Represent Mercer County at the state pageant on October 17th and 18th in Louisville
at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
· Winner and Parent/Guardian will be required to sign and abide by the 2025 Queen’s
Contract which includes community service.
· 2025 Queen will be required to participate in the local Christmas Parade on
December 5th, 2025.
· Other appearances will be available for the 2025 Queen to participate in during her
reign as Miss Pre Teen Mercer County.
